The Eclipse 550 is an enhanced version of the original 2006 Eclipse 500, introducing an improved avionics suite, AutoThrottles function, synthetic and enhanced vision systems. Launched in 2011 with first delivery in October 2013, this low-wing, twin-engine jet initially built by Eclipse Aerospace is now part of One Aviation portfolio together with the in-development Kestrel high-performance turboprop.

The Eclipse 550 features best in class performance, economics, and safety. With the ability to fly at altitudes up to 41,000 feet at a max cruise speed of 375 kt, all while the fuel consumption is more similar to a turboprop aircraft with an average of  59 gallons per hour.

The dual Integrated Flight Management Systems (IFMS) designed by Innovative Solutions & Support (ISS) brings a commercial aviation-grade integrated avionics suite to the Eclipse 550. The flight deck features two 10.4-inch Primary Flight Displays (PFD) and one 15.3-inch  Multi-Function Display (MFD). The highly integrated avionics suite offers superior navigation solutions enabling precision approach capabilities. The Eclipse IFMS promotes enhanced situational awareness by providing simple, instinctive, yet highly advanced flight planning with quick and easy access to the flight path, aircraft position, and weather on moving maps and geo-referenced electronic charts.

Optional features include AutoThrottles, Honeywell RDR-2000 weather radar, TAWS, and lightning detection system. An FAA part 135 compliance optional package is available for charter operators. The Eclipse 550 is one of the rare Entry-level jets to offer an optional Enhanced Vision System (EVS)  using the lightweight Lexavia LFS6000 compact EVS Model.
