The A320 pioneered the fly-by-wire technology with sidestick controls in the commercial aircraft market. Following its introduction, the wide A320 cockpit layout will be adopted by all following Airbus products.
The advanced cockpit uses a selection of suppliers and avionics equipment to offer advanced navigation, communication, and surveillance functionalities. An optional dual Head-Up Display (HUD) system from Thales can be installed in the cockpit allowing for enhanced situation awareness and low visibility operations.
