The Global 5500 is the second iteration of the 2005 short cabin Global 5000. Taking advantage of the latest generation Rolls Royce Pearl 15 engine, the Global 5500 offers a 700 nm range increase coupled with a 13% lower fuel burn compared to its predecessor.

The 2019 three-zones cabin Global 5500, combine transcontinental long−range and high−speed capabilities with exceptional short-field performance. With its steep approach certification, the Global 5500 aircraft is able to land at London City Airport. It can also operate in and out of other challenging airports like Aspen and Lugano.

The Global aircraft family offers an exceptional cabin experience with its wide-open large living spaces. The elegantly redefined interior lines create an aesthetic masterpiece.

The interior offering benefit from the new generation of Bombardier Nuage seats, designed to maximize comfort and relaxation on long-haul flights with an ergonomically-perfected deep recline position and a patented floating base, which allows the seat to track and swivel naturally and effortlessly and without visible floor rails.

The shorter cabin Global 5500 offers three zones with flexible seating arrangements hosting up to sixteen passengers. The standard configuration features a private suite with a 3-place berthable divan, two patented Nuage seats with unique deep recline feature and a 24-inch bulkhead monitor

Introduced in 2011, the Global Vision Flight deck was one of the first applications of the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite. A fully harmonized symbology has been achieved between the four high-resolution 15-inch LCD displays arranged in a T-shape and the Head-up Guidance System (HGS). The advanced avionics suite allows for advanced functions capability including synthetic and Enhanced Vision, Electronic Checklist, Graphical flight planning, and paperless operation enabled by a redundant Electronics Charts system.
